Requirements

Deploying ASI in a clustered configuration provides high availability, horizontal scalability, and resilient failover. In addition to the general requirements on this page, ensure the Standalone Requirements are met, as clustered builds on the same foundation.

Minimum Cluster Topology

  • Minimum 3 ASI nodes (quorum)
  • 4–6 nodes recommended
  • Full mesh connectivity between nodes
  • Remote HA PostgreSQL backend
  • Load balancer(s) for redundancy and traffic distribution

A 2-node cluster is not supported.

Database (Remote PostgreSQL)

For clustered deployments, the database should be backed by either a BES-provisioned database service or a high-availability PostgreSQL instance to maintain reliability and failover support.

Load Balancer

For details on health checks, session affinity, TLS handling, and recommended configurations, consult the Load Balancer Planning Guide.

Network

For a complete description of required ports, mesh connectivity, and load-balancer paths, see the Networking Planning Guide, particularly the clustering sections that describe inter-node communication.
